The Model 1B owes its existence to the writings of two audio legends – Siegfried Linkwitz and Nelson Pass, and the introduction of powerful 10” drivers and DSP-controlled amplification from Dayton Audio. The Model 1B is a slot-loaded open baffle (SLOB) design, which provides a supercardioid polar pattern with 3dB more output to the front than H-type open baffle designs.

The Model 1B provides a good fit electrically, acoustically, and aesthetically for your small dipole speakers such as the Magnepan LRS+ and 0.7i, and Quad ESL’s (57, 63, 28XX and 29XX Series), as well as small mini-monitors mounted on stands, including the Technics CX700 powered speakers, the Technics C600 speakers, the KEF LS 50 Meta and Wireless speakers and the many LS 3/5a BBC mini-monitors, from Rogers, Chartwell, Spendor and others.

The Model 1B is constructed of Baltic Birch 3⁄4” 12-ply Plywood and is offered with a painted finish. The top of the cabinet, and left and right sides, and the back are painted in a durable satin black 2-part epoxy cabinet paint.
